How one "Yes" made me emigrate to the other side of the world...

Everyone has one or two very important people in her or his life outside the family, right? In my case it's my friend Joachim Glaser, who is a film-maker. At the end of high-school we both started to boldly follow our passion. He in film and I in music. He asked me if I wanted to make the soundtrack to his first film. There it was: "Yes, of course!" And that got me hooked and set me on a path that I'm still following now, many many years later. But it also led me to move to New Zealand to study sound design.

Naturally, we've been collaborating on film projects for twenty years now and it has been so much fun.

Joachim has a very special artistic vision for his films and has sent quite a few challenges my way. For example, this short film of his that I want to share with you. 7 Minutes of Love.

It's an abstract film that explores the course of a love relationship. What does love mean? In this short drama a couple is reviewing its relationship by watching it as a film. I think the third main character in the film is the solo piano that I used for the soundtrack.

The film is quite a few years old now, but it's very interesting for me as it's one of the many important steps in both our developments as artists. I hope you enjoy it.

Watch it here.

Best,

Adrian
